How Many Mysterious Wheelchairs are there?
Chapter 4: Zuphixy has vanished from the university
Back in this world, Mr Quzefuly got a call from the university that Zuphixy was attending. They told Mr Quzefuly that right in the middle of class Zuphixy had vanished from his seat. The university staff were checking with Mr Quzefuly if he knew where Zuphixy was.
Mr Quzefuly was shocked at the news and told them that he had not seen Zuphixy since before he had gone to class that morning. Mr Quzefuly told the person who called him that he would check with all Zuphixy’s friends from the university and he hung up the phone. After that Mr Quzefuly contacted all of Zuphixy’s friends, they said that the last thing they knew, Zuphixy was being examined for the seizures.
When Zuphixy’s friends heard the news that he had vanished they started to look in all the places that Zuphixy normally would go. As Zuphixy was in Silla-Tierra again his friends could not find him in the normal places in this world.
Meanwhile Mr Quzefuly kept searching for Miss Quzefuly and started to search for Zuphixy as well. He thought to himself, “since both are in wheelchairs, that will up my chances of finding either one of them. All I have to do is follow tire tracks.”
Every one that was helping to search heard that now they were looking for two people in wheelchairs. One of them said “Maybe there is something wrong with the wheelchairs from that store?”. Mr Quzefuly replied “I thought of that, but it is impossible to prove as all the wheelchairs my son has had since, have not had him vanished until now. Also how can you test all the chairs for that without risking disappearing yourself?”
Another person said “you got a point there, but if you were to disappear at least you would most likely find out where they have disappeared to, and you will be all together!”. Mr Quzefuly replied “Maybe, but also they could come back in the meantime like Zuphixy did last time he vanished. Then they wonder where I went!”
The first person said “I get it, you want to be around in case they come back. But maybe we can put a medical training dummy in all the wheelchairs and see if anything happens to them.” So everyone went to the university where Zuphixy was taking the medical courses, and told the staff of their plan of using the medical training dummy to find out if there are any more wheelchairs that could vanish. The university agreed that would be a good way to find out, but they would not give them any of the dummy’s as they cost too much to have them getting lost.
One of Zuphixy’s friends named John, over heard about the dummy idea and thought to himself “I could spend some time and sit in all the wheelchairs in the store until I find one that is as mysterious as Zuphixy’s wheelchair seemed to be. If I never find one at least we will know that it’s not the wheelchairs but some other mysterious happenings”
The next day John went to the wheelchair store to try his plan of sitting in every chair to see if he would vanish. But when he went to try out a wheelchair the sales person would not let him sit in one. The sales person said “It is the store's rules, and seeing as you show no signs of needing to use a wheelchair, I can not allow you to test them out. That rule is there in case you accidentally break one of the chairs.”
When John told the sales person why he wanted to test them, the sales person looked at him as though he was crazy! He insisted that he eave the store and get mental help, as it is impossible for a wheelchair to make anyone just disappear.
Just then Mr Quzefuly came into the store and overheard what the sales person had said to Zuphixy’s friend. Mr Quzefuly then took the sales man aside and said to him “If you think he has a mental problem then can you please tell me where my wife and son are? I know you have heard on the radio that my wife has disappeared! Do you think I am also mental?”
The sales man knew Zuphixy’s parents ever since Zuphixy was a little boy. Every time Zuphixy needed a new wheelchair they always got one from this store. As to not upset Mr Quzefuly, the sales man said, “No I don’t think you are mental. I guess that other man over there is not mental either. What I was trying to say is that it is not the wheelchairs that made the people disappear. I think there is something else going on. I thought that anyone who thinks that these normal wheelchairs are magical must have a mental problem.”
Mr Quzefuly said “I agree that it doesn’t make sense that the wheelchairs are magic, as not all wheelchairs seem to do it. But that man was just trying to cancel out all possibilities even if the idea does not make logically sense.” The sales man then said “So I’m guessing you came here for the same reason as this man did? Let me guess, you believe in magic and want to test them out.”
Mr Quzefuly said “kind of, I want to talk to the salesman that sold my wife her chair, as she disappeared right after getting in her chair right in this store! Not because I think the chairs are magical, but to find out what led up to her disappearing.”
The sales man then said “I will go see if he is here.” and then he walked away and thought to himself “Now I have two men in this store that think there is such a thing as magic! But I can’t tell Mr Quzefuly that he is crazy because I know that his son had really disappeared when he was sixteen. So I will just go get the other sales man and maybe he can put light on this subject away from the idea of magic”
Meanwhile John decided that he should just go away from the store. As he left he thought to himself, “Maybe the magic happened in the factory! Maybe the sales men are not told by the company making them. As that would make them go out of business if it was ever found out!”
When the other sales man came out he only saw Mr Quzefuly and said, “What can I help you with? The other salesman told me that you wanted to talk to me about the wheelchair that I sold to your wife.”
Mr Quzefuly said “Well, not about the wheelchair as much. I was wondering if you can give me a clue to how my wife vanished? Did she say anything that could give light to how she had vanished?”
The new sales man said “Oh I see. Well all I know is that she told me the story of how her son years ago, claimed to have magically gone to another world. She told me ‘I know that magic isn’t real, I admit now that I have just become disabled and in a wheelchair myself, I wish that I could experience what my son had claimed to have experienced.’ The next thing I know she had vanished from this store. I am sorry that I can not be of any more help.”
Mr Quzefuly said “Thank you for that information. Maybe she wheeled away to make it look like she had done the same as our son had done all those years ago? Only one problem is his friends think, unless I can prove otherwise, there must be something magical going on with my son and my wife. Seeing as the only thing that is the same between them is that both of their wheelchairs came from this store. So I thought that this place would be a good place to find a non-magical explanation for both of them to just vanish.”
Just then the sales man gave a smile and winked, but Mr Quzefuly did not see. As Mr Quzefuly was leaving, the sales man said in a soft voice that he could not hear “maybe there is such a thing as magic.”
Mr Quzefuly left the store thinking about what just took place in the wheelchair store, and was not looking where he was going. Mr Quzefuly bumped into a motorized wheelchair and he fell on an old lady's lap and was sitting facing her. The fall shocked both of them and the lady screamed. Mr Quzefuly got off of the lady as fast as he could. Mr Quzefuly ran away in embarrassment because he did not want anyone asking him why he was sitting on the lady’s lap.
When Mr Quzefuly got home he tried to do some experiments on how living things vanished. He started with one of his wife's plants that looked like it was about to die anyway. Instead of the plant vanishing, it seemed like what he did had given the plant new life. Then as he was trying to find out why the plant did what it did, a bug happened to walk past the plant. Mr Quzefuly watched the bug hoping that maybe the bug would vanish, but the bug just flopped down and died. So he gave up on that and went for a walk to think about what to do next in finding his family members.
Some people that know Mr Quzefuly thought that he was going crazy, and tried to get him checked into a mental hospital. Mr Quzefuly told them that he would only go to get checked for a mental problem if they can prove that it was just him that doesn’t see his family members. But because no one could prove that it was just his mind playing tricks on him, the people who had thought that Mr Quzefuly was going crazy had no choice but to let him stay in his home and let him keep looking for his missing family members.
