How Many Mysterious Wheelchairs are there?

Chapter 1: Miss. Quzefuly Shock of a Life 

On a warm fall day, while the leaves were falling off the trees, there was a smell of decay everywhere. Ms. Quzefuly, forty year old mother of Zuphixy; ~yes, the same Zuphixy that has hair like gold when the sun shines on it.~ did not believe Zuphixy had gone to a land called Silla-Tierra when he was sixteen years old. At that time she did not believe that was even possible, until about a week ago, that all changed. You may ask what made Ms. Quzefuly change her mind? You will find out if you read the rest of this book.

You see, about two weeks ago Ms. Quzefuly was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease known as ALS, (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) which put her in a wheelchair. On the day that Ms. Quzefuly was testing out new wheelchairs she went to sit in a pink motorized wheelchair. As soon as she did up the seat belt she found herself in a location that she did not know. Just like Zuphixy had said happened to him when he was sixteen years old. At first Ms. Quzefuly thought maybe she was just dreaming about the story Zuphixy had told her about Silla-Tierra. Yet it also seemed different from how Zuphixy had described it.  

One way it was different was that when she got there Ms. Quzefuly did not find herself in a woods like Zuphixy had. Instead she found herself in a big city where it was so hot she could feel the sweat dripping down her face. Yet, like Zuphixy had said, all the wheelchairs were alive! Even with the sounds of the city, Ms. Quzefuly heard a girl's voice yelling, “He burned down another house from the old part of the city!” When Ms. Quzefuly looked to where the voice had come from, all she saw was an empty wheelchair. At first it looked like a wig on the handles of the wheelchair. Then Ms. Quzefuly saw all the wheelchairs near her start moving faster than she had ever seen any wheelchair move. At first she thought, “Are they rolling down a hill?” Just then they zipped by her and she realised that she was not on a hill.

After all the living wheelchairs had rolled by her she saw a reflection in a store window of a wheelchair looking back at her. When Miss. Quzefuly turned her head side to side, the reflection also turned side to side. It was then she realized that it must have been her reflection. Which meant that, unlike Zuphixy, Miss. Quzefuly was now also a living wheelchair.

She decided to find out what she could learn about what a living wheelchair life was like. So she went into a local doctors office that was near to where she was. She explained to the medical staff how she became a living wheelchair. Everyone there was shocked to learn that she had come from another world. The only time someone had come from another world was when Zuphixy had come. When Zuphixy came to Silla-Tierra he had not transformed into a living wheelchair, so it was hard for the medical team to believe Mis. Quzefuly. They did some tests on her that confirmed that she was telling the truth. The test also showed that she was a relative to Zuphixy. When they asked her about it, she explained that she was Zuphixy’s mother. 

It was decided by the doctor that it was best for Ms. Quzefuly to stay with Purpleten and her son, who just so happen to be Ms. Quzefuly grandson. Purpleten and her son were the only ones in the city that would understand it was possible for someone to come from another world. Now the doctor was a cousin of Purpleten, so he used his relationship with Purpleten to find her phone number in his private list of numbers. The doctor then phoned Purpleten and made the needed arrangements for Ms. Quzefuly to stay at their place.  While Miss Quzefuly was staying with Purpleten she learned that no one had seen or heard from the Oidohombres. The Oidohombres are men that you may know as ear men. After the day that Zuphixy had disappeared, everyone in the town were so happy that they did not have to worry about the Oidohombres (ear men) anymore. As time went by the town turned into a city. To make room for all the new living wheelchairs that seemed to be moving there, they had to bulldoze the woods and all the heart shaped flowers.  

Around the time that the town had become a city, Zoofixy junior, ~ who, as you should know from the first book, is Zuphixy’s son~ started to show people that he was angry about his father not being there for him as he grew up. He would show his anger by setting every new house that was being built on fire. If there were no new places to burn, it seemed that he would find some other ways of getting into trouble. Any living wheelchairs that own stores were scared that Zoofixy junior would either steal stuff from them, or just break things. So they would not let him in the stores without an adult living wheelchair supervising Zoofixy junior. Purpleten was hoping that with Miss. Quzefuly around, her son would have fun and stay out of trouble. Purpleten could tell that Miss. Quzefuly was good with children. Miss. Quzefuly reminded her of Zuphixy, and was hoping that her son would see the same, and like her. But instead Zoofixy junior did not like Miss. Quzefuly at first.

Miss Quzefuly tried to get Zoofixy junior to like her by giving him gifts that she thought he would like. Seeing as she was just guessing, it didn’t help Zoofixy junior to like her anymore then he already did. Zoofixy junior tried to hurt Miss Quzefuly a few times, but usually another adult living wheelchair would show up just in time. There was one time Zoofixy junior did hurt Ms. Quzefuly badly enough that she had to go to get “medical” help for a flat tire. Instead of scaring Miss Quzefuly away, which is what he was hoping it would do,  all it did was make her try even harder to get him to stay out of trouble.

As the weeks passed, Miss Quzefuly had learned what her grandson liked and not liked. Miss Quzefuly used that information to show him that she was not a bad wheelchair.  After two months of Zoofixy junior getting in trouble, he finally decided to stop. Miss Quzefuly and Purpleten were not sure if it was that he gave up, or if Zoofixy junior just liked the fun they had together. Whatever it was, it meant that the town was not as scared to let Zoofixy junior in the stores when he was with Miss Quzefuly.

One day Miss Quzefuly and Zoofixy junior had gone to a zoo, which he had only done once before when Zuphixy was still with them. After Zuphixy had disappeared, Purpleten never had time to take her son anywhere because she was now a single mother who worked long hours, six days a week. This left Zoofixy junior to fend for himself, until Miss Quzefuly came along.

   On another day Miss Quzefuly had the idea to take Zoofixy junior to a lake in the middle of the city, where she thought he would like to go swimming. When she asked Zoofixy junior if he would like to go swimming, Miss Quzefuly learned that he had never gone swimming before. Yet he would have liked to. Miss Quzefuly asked Zoofixy junior why he had never learned how to swim, as Zuphixy was a good swimmer. She found out that because Purpleten could not swim herself, and was scared that she would lose her only son if she let him learn to swim. So they ended up just having a picnic at the lake, because Miss Quzefuly realized now that she was a living wheelchair, and that she also should not go swimming as it would hurt her. After their lunch they chatted for a while about things that he would like to do. She decided to teach her grandson how to play wheelchair basketball.

Miss Quzefuly learned how to play wheelchair basketball from watching Zuphixy play when he was seventeen years old. Even though Miss Quzefuly taught her grandson how to play wheelchair basketball, she still lost, because he was a fast learner. Even though she knows the rules, she had never played before, and ended up missing the basket a lot more than he had.
